Strong and Healthy the KV Plan to Reopen-COVID19

What can gyms do in Michigan to keep us healthy, lets see what KV strong and healthy plan is!

Here at KV our main objective is to keep you fit and healthy. This includes additional procedures to keep our gym clean while fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. Together we can keep our gym clean, healthy, and strong. We wanted to share what we are doing at the gym and what we need from each of you to make this a success.

What are we doing?

  • We have implemented advanced cleaning procedures within the gym. This includes additional cleaning measures of equipment, flooring, and frequent touch points

  • Drinking fountains are turned off at this time. We encourage everyone to bring a filled water bottle.

  • Multiple hand sanitizer stations and cleaning supplies have been setup

  • Coaches will be wearing masks inside while coaching

  • Everyone will need to practice social and fitnessing distance. We do love a good high five or fist bump after a great workout or lift, just right now we have to keep our distance.

  • Coaches will be subject to daily medical screening before coaching the class for signs and symptoms of COVID-19

  • Athletes have individual workout spaces, spaced 12’ apart

  • Not ready to come into the gym quite yet, we have options for you. This includes zoom classes and programming. Give us a call/text at 810-545-7701 so we know your needs.

What we need from you?

  • If you feel sick or have signs and symptoms of COVID19 we need you to stay home. Mike has a significant background in working on this issue and we encourage you to reach out if you are feeling sick

  • If a member in your home is diagnosed with COVID-19 or a close contact please reach out so we can have a conversation. Please hold off from coming into the gym until we evaluate what is going on.

  • RSVP your spot in Zen Planner class size will be limited. Please help our coaches not have to make hard decisions and turn you away if you are above the limit.

  • When you come to the gym, bring clean shoes (gym only shoes) and a filled water bottle.

  • When you get into the gym the first thing we need you to do is change your shoes followed by immediately washing your hands. 30 seconds with soap and water (plus you get to use our new touch less paper towel dispensers), let's keep the doors propped open (unless your using the facility, then close it)

  • Make sure you keep your physical and fitnessing distance. We know you may want to jump on a bike to get warm, right now, we need to be cautious and coordinated on what is touched. Please wait to get any equipment out until you receive instructions from the coach on duty on what to get and where to go.

  • We will walk you through the cleaning of equipment after every class and no shared equipment at this time.

  • Keep in mind, we are going to go lighter and slow to help get you back into the flow of working out. Many of you have worked out at home, it's just not the same, bring some patience and well get you back to where you were very quickly. Your gains are not all gone, just need to be awakened.

  • If you have questions, ask your coach. The question not asked is the worst question.

For our new athletes or those wanting to join the KV Family, we have a no-touch process to get you signed up and on your way to fitness. Reach out to us today at 810-545-7701 via text or email to get started on losing that COVID-19 weight.

Is CrossFit the same at every CrossFit gym? - Brighton, MI

What is CrossFit?

CrossFit is a workout method characterized by safe, effective exercise and sound nutrition. CrossFit can be used to accomplish any goal, from improved health to weight loss to better performance. The program works for everyone—people who are just starting out and people who have trained for years.

The magic is in the movements. Workouts are different every day and modified to help each athlete achieve his or her goals. CrossFit workouts can be adapted for people at any age and level of fitness.

Are all CrossFit gyms the same?

CrossFit isn't a franchise (like your local Pizza Hut); instead, it’s an affiliate. That means every box has its own individual programming and style. It’s not one-size-fits-all. CrossFit is a brand that allows each gym to create their own workouts, culture, and goals.

What KV’s CrossFit class is like

Kensington Valley’s CrossFit classes last an hour, broken down into four different components: a warm-up, strength or skill, workout of the day or WOD, and cool down or mobility session. We perform workouts at relative intensity at each individual’s pace. At Kensington Valley our workouts are prescribed at varying intensity levels with the majority at 85% percent intensity level. That means you leave feeling great and ready to tackle the day not dead and completely sore where you cannot function the rest of the day. That is what sets us apart from other facilities in the area. We have taken the approach of general fitness and health above all else. By focusing on science and effective mixture of intensity levels (heart rate training zones) we can complete a healthy well-rounded person.

Interested in trying out a free class. We offer 2 free drop-in classes to see if CrossFit is a good fit for you. Text/Call 810-545-7701 or email crossfitkv@gmail.com to claim your free trial.
